Spartz Announces Class of 2026 Military Academy Appointments

CARMEL, IN – Today, U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) announced the names of six outstanding nominees from Indiana’s Fifth Congressional District who were appointed and have accepted to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, and West Point:
U.S. Air Force Academy
Ellison Nou – Carmel, Hamilton County
Samuel Schmidt – Westfield, Hamilton County
Scott Winger – Hartford City, Blackford County
U.S. Naval Academy
John Sheddy – Fishers, Hamilton County
Grace Sullivan – Carmel, Hamilton County
West Point
Reid Wesley – Zionsville, Boone County
“It’s critical that our military remains the best trained, best equipped, and most importantly, the best lead military force in the world,” said Rep. Spartz. “I know these outstanding nominees will represent Indiana, and our nation well.”
Every applicant was interviewed and then rigorously evaluated by the nomination committee on a variety of factors including academic and athletic achievements, extra-curricular activities, character, and motivation.
Rep. Spartz would also like to take this opportunity to encourage interested high school students residing in Indiana’s Fifth Congressional District to apply for upcoming class nominations.
