Reps. Spartz, Hudson Introduce American Ammo in Defense of Ukraine Act

March 9, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Reps. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) and Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced the American Ammo in Defense of Ukraine Act along with 27 colleagues. The legislation will waive export criteria for US licensed manufacturers to streamline donations of ammunition to Ukraine.

“The American Ammo in Defense of Ukraine Act is important legislation which would improve speed and agility in dealing with the current crisis in Ukraine for generous private companies willing to help,” said Rep. Spartz. “Maximizing efficiency, and cutting bureaucratic red tape is essential in dealing with any crisis effectively.”

"In the face of Russia's invasion, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced he needed ammunition, not a ride. The American Ammo in Defense of Ukraine Act will do just that by cutting red tape to ensure American ammunition can reach Ukraine faster," said Rep. Hudson. "America must support Ukraine's self-defense and I appreciate the support of Congresswoman Spartz and our colleagues on this common sense bill."
