Rep. Spartz Issues Statement on Omnibus Vote
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Victoria Spartz (IN-05) issued the following statement on the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill vote:
“The wasteful omnibus bill passed by the House today saddles the next generation of Americans with more untold debt—all while failing to address the most pressing issues we face: an out-of-control border crisis, record-high inflation, and energy security. It’s unfortunate that Senate Republican leadership cut a deal with House Democrats and gave away leverage of the incoming Republican majority in the House. Therefore, I voted no,” said Rep. Spartz. “Democrats are also playing politics with the situation in Ukraine by throwing in $9 billion in important security assistance funding within a much larger spending package full of left-wing pet projects – one that most Republicans cannot, in good conscience, support, instead of having a stand-alone package to show strong bipartisan support of Ukraine.”
