Spartz Introduces Bill to Honor Officer Shahnavaz

September 24, 2024

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Spartz introduced a bill to honor fallen Officer Shahnavaz of the Elwood Police Department, joined by all members of the Indiana delegation.

“Noah was a true hero who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation," Spartz said. "We must always remember the fallen and carry on the torch of freedom."

Before his service in law enforcement, Officer Shahnavaz was a sergeant in the United States Army, serving with the 591st Military Police Company and deploying to the Middle East during the Global War on Terror.

The legislation renames the post office at 119 North Anderson Street in Elwood, IN as the “Officer Noah Jacob Shahnavaz Post Office Building."
